IFIC Bank hands over literary award

The IFIC Bank Shahitya Puroshkar- 2014 was handed over to the winners Saturday in the city. Faruque Chowdhury and Shaheen Akhtar received the awards worth Tk 0.5 million each for their books namely ‘Jiboner Balukabelay’ and ‘Moyur Shinghashon’ respectively. Finance Minister AMA Muhith handed over the crests and money to the winners.

The minister also inaugurated the newly-built IFIC Bank Tower immediate before of the award giving ceremony. With giving such award the IFIC Bank is contributing for creative literary activities in the country, said Mr Muhith. He also said since the beginning the bank has been working in many ways for the country's economic development. Salman F Rahman, the IFIC Bank chairman said along with corporate social responsibility (CSR) they sponsored and donated for different cultural programme.  And such initiatives will continue in coming days. The IFIC Bank managing director Shah Alam Sarwar, professor Anisuzzaman, barrister Rafiqul Haque, Bengal Foundation chairman Abul Khair Litu, writers, cultural activists, among others were present at the programme
